Houston Therapist Serving Black and Latinx Communities

Offering a safe space for us to heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression for healthier relationships.

Black and Latinx people deal with unique stressors that impact our mental health, physical health, and relationship health.

Many of us grew up believing therapy was not for us. We were told it was for “crazy people” or “locos”. Thankfully, the mental health narrative has shifted in the last years, but many of us are still skeptical about seeing a therapist.

For starters, we take pride in being “strong”. We’re raised to believe that we should suppress our emotions, keep our chins up, take care of others, and push through any struggles we may endure. It worked for our ancestors, why shouldn’t it work for us, right? Wrong. We want to do more than just survive.

It’s also difficult to find a Black therapist or Latinx Indigenous therapist. In fact, we only make up 3-4% of the mental health field. Many of us want therapists who understand the nuances of our culture and validate our experiences.

This is why I created the Flow & Ease Healing Center in Houston, Tx. I wanted somewhere Black and Brown people could go to be seen, heard, and understood.

I am also the co-founder of Melanin & Mental Health. A virtual mental health space where Black and Latinx people can go to find mental health resources.

Finally, my personal belief is that self-care and healing is a form of resistance.

Let the protest begin.
