Isn’t Love Supposed to Be Easy?

You knew relationships took effort, but this feels like too much. Every conversation feels exhausting; it’s like you don’t even speak the same language. It’s normal to hit some bumps in the road, but this feels like a never-ending rollercoaster. The connection just isn’t there anymore. Intimacy in any form, especially sex, feels like a chore. You’ve been wondering lately if this is as good as it’s going to get.

Dating is a bleak wasteland of apps that only lead to aimless small talk and “good morning” texts. You engage because you’re trying to have an open mind and try something different.  But this is your upteenth time taking a break from online dating.  Let’s be honest, you wish you could throw these experiences in the dumpster where they belong. You’re sick of wasting your time!  It seems the modern world has forgotten how to truly connect.

You don’t want to be in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship.  You want something deeper, something to stand the test of time.  You want to feel alive again.  You long for a relationship where you feel supported, desired, and understood with someone who understands and values you. Do relationships like that even exist?  You know people aren’t perfect, including yourself.  You recognize there’s work to do but where do you even start?

You haven’t lost all hope, but something needs to change soon.

You can’t keep living like this.

You’re Ready for Change

You’ve been labeled difficult and problematic.  People don’t see beyond the tough exterior you’ve built to protect yourself from getting hurt. In reality, you’re a person with a huge heart who feels everything deeply. You just don’t know what to do with all those emotions and can’t risk having someone use them against you.

Your upbringing taught you to be strong, not show emotions, to be independent, care for the people around you, but protect your heart, and focus on your career and achievements.  You were told that if you did all the right things, your person would come along one day.  Good things come to those who wait. Well, you followed the planned.  You’re a good person, you’re smart, and you’ve done great professionally, but none of that success is translating into your love life. You’ve had your fair share of breakups and betrayals.  Now, you’re afraid to open up, trust someone, then have them leave you.

What you really want is simple.

You want to feel protected and safe.

You want to feel desired and pursued.

You want to feel valued, understood, and respected.

You want someone to pour into you!

You Need the Right Therapist

You recognize that you need some outside support.  Your friends and family have a lot of advice, but let’s be honest, they’re struggling with their relationships too.  Could therapy work this time?  People talk about the benefits of therapy, but do they know how hard it is to find the right therapist?!

You want someone who gets you, someone who not only understands your challenges, but someone that can relate to your background and upbringing.  You spend so much time code-switching, the last place you want to have to do that is in therapy.  Plus, you don’t want to spend half the time explaining your unique cultural experiences.  You don’t want a therapist who doesn’t understand what it’s like to have to deal with micro-aggressions on a daily basis.  You want someone is informed about the unique stressors Black and Brown people experience.  You need a therapist who understands that there is a certain level of stress you deal with simply because of the body in which you exist.

You Want Therapy That Makes a Difference

Because you’re so goal oriented, you need therapy that’s going to help you see some change in your life.  You’re not looking to just vent about your issues.  You want real, measurable progress from the process. I get it. You’re pouring time, energy, and money into this and you want to feel better!

Overcome Your Relationship Anxiety

Just imagine what it would be like to finally feel confident about working through conflict.  What might it be like to be able to trust someone completely?

Picture yourself knowing how to communicate your needs and desires.

What if you could be honest about how you’re feeling and stop holding back?

What if you knew what happy, healthy relationships look like?

How much better would your life be if you learned how to effectively deal with conflict?

Imagine being able to outwardly express the love and affection you feel for your partner.

What if you could feel more confident about sex?

No more performance anxiety and finally some pleasure.

Imagine looking forward to and enjoying sex!

Relationship and Sex Therapy Can Help

With the right tools and support, you can create the relationship you desire.  One built on a foundation of trust, honesty, and mutual respect. People who work together with common values report higher levels of intimacy.

The journey towards a healthy and fulfilling relationship isn’t easy. It often involves navigating through disagreements, conflicts, and tough conversations. But, when all partners are committed, the rewards are a more resilient partnership. Investing in a relationship built on these principles can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life.

Take That First Step Towards Transformation

My name is Eliza Boquin.  I’m a licensed psychotherapist, couples therapist, AASECT certified sex therapist, co-founder of Melanin & Mental Health, and certified energy healing practitioner in Houston, TX and I want to help you.

I take great pride in creating courageous spaces where Black and Brown people can receive the expert care we need and deserve.  My goal is to provide you with an exceptional process to help you feel more confident and have the relationship intimacy you desire.

As your therapist, I’ll offer you a process that begins with a free phone consultation.  During that call we’ll discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and the vision you have for change.

Once we get started in therapy, we’ll explore your relationship history.  We’ll identify negative patterns being repeated. Then, we’ll find out what kind of conflict style you have, the cycle you’re stuck in, and how to break it.  You’ll learn what type of partners you’re drawn to and why.  I’ll teach you new communication skills and how to have those tough conversations that you’ve been avoiding.

You’ll learn how to overcome performance anxiety, so you can get back to enjoying sex.

Imagine being able to say, “I feel-, I want-, I like-, Let’s explore-,” with more ease.

If you’re ready to take that step towards transforming your love life then book your complimentary phone consultation with me today.  CLICK HERE to pick a day/time that works best with your schedule.  Don’t spend another day wondering if things will change.  Start creating that change now.
